CEACAM5:
A Clue to Cancer Cells Hiding in Plain Sight

CEACAM5 is currently being explored as a predictive biomarker1

In early investigational studies, ~25% of patients with advanced nonsquamous (NSq) non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) had high CEACAM5 (carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 5) expression.2,3 CEACAM5 has higher differential expression in NSCLC tumors vs normal lung tissue.4 Therefore, understanding the role of CEACAM5 may potentially provide insights to target advanced NSCLC, which has a poor prognosis.4-6

Michael Thomas, MD, discusses the role of CEACAM5 in tumor development
